Hollock wood is a yellow to yellow-brown in color, this tends to darken with age. Hollock is a well-known hardwood used to make window shutters, door frames, and doors. You can trust on this particular wood. It has excellent woodworking finishing, is strong, and is long-lasting. It is easily paintable and polishable. Generally simple to work with, though any interlaced grain can cause issues when planning. Some species may have a slight blunting effect on tools due to small levels of silica present in the wood. Glues, stains, and finishes well.
